Popularized in 18th-century Edo Japan by Kabuki actor Sanogawa Ichimatsu, the pattern symbolizes prosperity, longevity, and business expansion. Omoto’s interpretation features a raised sashiko stitch, woven using extra-thick denim yarns to create pronounced texture with tonal depth. The Happi is cut in a versatile, roomy fit and is designed to be worn as an overshirt or lightweight outer layer. Finished with waist pockets, tube sleeves, and an open placket.
